FAFSA
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form that must be filed with the federal government to get federeal aid. Borrowers should file the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1. To complete your FAFSA online, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov.

National Student Clearinghouse
- The Clearinghouse maintains a comprehensive electronic registry of student records that provides a single, automated point-of-contact for organizations and individuals requiring timely, accurate verification of student enrollment, degree, and loan data. To find out which lender(s) holds your student loan(s), visit www.studentclearinghouse.org.

National Student Loan Data System
- The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for student financial aid information, which includes data from schools, guarantee agencies, Pell Grant, and other U.S. Department of Education programs. The database provides an overview of loans and grants tracked through the approval to repayment loan cycle.
Borrowers can access the NSLDS database at www.nslds.ed.gov to review loan or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan status, and disbursement information. Required: borrower Social Security number (SSN), the first two letters of the borrower's last name, borrower's date of birth, and a PIN. The site is secure and borrower information is protected for privacy. Borrowers can also contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center toll-free at 800-4-FED-AID (800-433-3243) Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. (ET).

Office of the Federal Ombudsman
- The Federal Student Aid Ombudsman works with student loan borrowers to informally resolve loan disputes and problems. Its goal is to facilitate and provide creative options/alternatives for borrowers needing assistance with federal loans. If you can't resolve a dispute on your own, you should contact this office for more assistance.
